Further adventures from the back of beyond

The Daily Splash took advantage of the fantastic weather at the weekend to make a long awaited mountain bike visit to the famous “Forest of Bowland” in Lancashire, hoping for some shade amongst the trees. Unfortunately it turns out that the forest was last in existence in pre-historic times and there was no shade in sight but instead a lot of hills, which were all hard work on the bike. The weather was beautiful and the route was exceptional – Slaidburn to Wray and back via Cross of Greet and Salter Fell.
